When Pete Johnson, founder of Tatuaje Cigars first introduced the Surrogates line from L’Atelier It was meant to be a single store release. Well, lucky for the rest of the us, the line turned out to be a winner and has now become a national release for the brand. The unique thing about this line that is crafted at the My Father factory in Nicaragua, is that each blend uses the same Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, but each size utilizes a different wrapper - Pete Johnson's blending prowess is on full display with Surrogates, and there is certainly a blend for everyone.
The medium to full-bodied Animal Cracker features a dark Ecuador habano Oscuro wrapper that is characterized by notes of dark chocolate, cinnamon and a healthy dose of black pepper on the retrohale. Unforgivingly bold, Surrogates Animal Cracker by L'Atelier is a blend that any fan of Nicaraguan power will want to keep in their humidor.
