As a long time Drew Estate AND Metallica fan, to say the news of a collaboration between the two excited me, would be a huge understatement. I've been smoking, and loving, Drew Estate blends for over a decade, and have come to REALLY love their fuller bodied blends. Blackened came as a welcomed surprise as I was waiting for the next maduro blend from Drew Estate to add to my regular rotation. Blackened surpassed all of my expectations in the best way possible.
A Mexican San Andres wrapper overtop a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a blend of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos has all the makings for a punchy, flavorful blend. Notes of dark chocolate, leather, and espresso are followed by an earthy and spicy finish that's as delicate as it is bold. If you are a fan of full-bodied blends, then Blackened by Drew Estate needs to be on your list to smoke next.
